What’s the studio rate for recording?
$30 an hour
Does the studio rental rate include an engineer?
Yes.
What are the hidden costs?
None! You will never be charged extra to use any of our instruments or gear while recording in our studio.
Can we get a tour of the studio?
Definitely! Get in touch with us through the Contact Page and we’ll set something up before you begin recording.
Do you have a drum kit?
Yes. We have a 6 piece Pearl Session (Maple) kit. When you book time please let us know if you will be tracking with our drum kit, so we can make sure the heads are in good shape for your recording session.
My buddy has ProTools at home. What’s the difference?
It comes down to experience. It’s easy to get the professional software, but it takes years of experience and practice to create excellent recordings. You may have a $2000 guitar, but that doesn’t mean you play it well. We have spent countless hours learning our recording software and gear, and our experience is well worth the time and money spent recording at our studio.
Do you have a demo CD of tracks from Fire Hyena?
Check out our Artists page. You can listen to 320kbps .mp3 files. That should give you a good idea of what our recordings turn out like.
Do you work weekends?
Of course. In fact, weekends are usually booked up several months in advance.
Can we come in early or the night before to set up?
No. Sessions begin at the time you schedule them. Much of the engineering work begins as you start setting up, so we have to charge for this time.
Do you do mastering?
Yes, please call or email us the for our rates.
Do you have beats?
We have a large selections of drum tracks and samples for recording. But remember that building up tracks is gonna take a lot of time and creativity. There are no “walk in and sing and walk out with a CD” services available at our recording studio. We want to give you something unique and professional.
Do you do vocal demos?
Yes we can, but it’s up to you to find instrumental backing tracks.
Is Fire Hyena non-smoking?
Yes. But you can smoke outside of the studio.
How long will it take to record my album?
In all honesty, we don’t know. A well-rehearsed band can lay down most of the basic tracks for an album in a day or two. Others may take longer.
We’re coming from out of town, what can we expect?
There are a number of nearby, modestly-priced hotels and lots of great restaurants in Saginaw, Michigan. Get in touch with us to find out which ones are our favorite!
